Where is La Yeguada located and how do I get there?

La Laguna of La Yeguada is located in the district of Calobre, province of Veraguas. It is approximately 70 kilometers (about 1.5 to 2 hours by car) from the city of Santiago. The most common route is via San Francisco–Calobre–La Laguna.

What is Ecoturismo La Yeguada OBC?

We are a nonprofit community organization. We do not operate as a travel agency; instead, we connect visitors with rural micro and small entrepreneurs who offer authentic and sustainable experiences.

What type of clothing or gear should I bring?

Comfortable clothing for hikes and daytime activities.
Warm clothing for the evenings, especially during the dry season when temperatures can drop.
During the rainy season (May to November), we recommend a raincoat or waterproof jacket, boots, and a flashlight.

What services are available in the area?

Public and private camping areas.
Rural accommodations such as Cabañas Mike y Claire, Cabañas Lourdes, Cabañas El Nazareno, Bolita Lodge, El Balcón de María, El Satro Forest Point, among others.

Is it necessary to make a reservation?

Yes, for the camping areas managed by the Ministry of Environment (La Toma and the Administrative Headquarters). There are also private areas for camping and lodging, and their contact information is available on our website.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, as long as they are supervised, kept on a leash, and their waste is properly collected to respect the natural environment. It is necessary to consult with the Ministry of Environment if you plan to camp in areas managed by them.

Are the activities suitable for people with reduced mobility?

Some activities, such as hiking in mountainous areas, require a certain level of physical ability. However, we are actively working to improve the accessibility of our facilities. Currently, there are adapted options for people with reduced mobility, such as activities on the accessible trail at Casa Lago and at the Bromelias Café spaces, which have been equipped to provide a comfortable and safe experience.

Are there transportation options to reach Ecoturismo La Yeguada?

We offer transportation from certain nearby areas by reservation, or you can arrive in your own vehicle. The access roads are unpaved, but they are in good condition.
